Now accepting commissions!

Been working on a handful of new paintings, both personal work and commissions for others.  Stay tuned to the gallery for new examples as we’ll be updating regularly over the next several weeks.

If you’re interested in having a new painting of your choosing, I’m currently accepting commissions on a variety of subjects.  At the moment, I’m primarily focused on action-portraiture (people working in their environment) and landscapes, but I’m open to whatever you’re looking for.  Take a look at some of my work in the painting gallery and see for yourself.  If you have questions, feel free to email dave@daveklemencic.com for further details, quotes and to set up an appointment to look at some samples firsthand.

Art Opening @ ALB Tech on February 6

Stay tuned for more info, but we’ve scheduled an art opening in the Gallery @ ALB Tech for the first Friday of February. The show will run all month, but the opening on the 6th will feature live music by the Former Champions, live drawing projections, tons of new artwork, complimentary cups of Diet Rite and those mixed peanuts they have at other fancy receptions. Located next to VCU campus at 1208 W. Main, ALB has been the hot spot for art, music and technology over the last year.

Owned and operated by Adam Bell, ALB is host to a variety of enterprises including the gallery space featuring cutting edge artwork, a live music space that’s featured great musicians from all over the region including Southside Funk, Aquabatics, Itation, KBH Trio (featuring Bell and Huppmann) and the 29th Division. The Tech side offers web design, computer sales and repairs, and has gone to great lengths to bring many artists, musicians and businesses in general into the 21st Century.

The show itself will feature original paintings new and old, traditional screen prints and lithographs, digital prints of both the paintings and live drawings from projections. Opening to coincide with the kick-off of the new website, it’s shaping up to be the premier art and culture event in Richmond for the month of February.

Gallery Opening this Friday @ ALB Tech!

Come out to ALB Tech this Friday, February 1 for between 7 and 9:30 p.m. I’ll be displaying a vast array of paintings and prints that include snippets from college, the last three years of independent work and several proud new pieces that have never been shown before.

Located at 1208 W. Main St., ALB Tech is a computer services and sales business run by Adam Bell and located conveniently adjacent to the VCU campus. Converted from a historic rowhouse, the business occupies the majority of the downstairs with the upstairs opening into four rooms of gallery space.

You’ll find scrolling digital images on each of the many LCD screens around the store, and prints of each of these images are available to order.

JJ Richmond and the Richmond Swingers, a dynamic jazz combo is slated to play in the upstairs gallery throughout the opening, and live drawings of the band in action and happenings in the gallery will be transmitted to a projection screen on the first floor for the whole crowd to appreciate.

Don’t miss out, snacks and beverages will be provided and the work will be on display throughout February.
